Who made StudyBuddy, and why?

A drawing of a chat with Ask Buddy on StudyBuddy

StudyBuddy was built in Guyana, for Guyanese students. It was started by a Guyanese parent who guided three children through the NGSA and CSEC, and who knows how hard it can be to find good practice that fits our exams and our everyday life.

StudyBuddy.gy is operated by Xcess Interactive in Guyana, and it opened to everyone on 12 October 2026.

Why we built it

"I built StudyBuddy.gy as a Guyanese parent who guided three children through the NGSA and CSEC."

The idea is simple: every child in Guyana should be able to prepare well for their exams, whether they live in Georgetown, Lethem or on the Essequibo Coast. That's why there is a free version, and why everything works on an ordinary phone.

Made with Guyana in mind

  • Topics for every grade from 4 to 11, built around what NGSA and CSEC test.

  • Examples that use Guyanese names, places and everyday life, so a maths question might be about a market stall in Bartica rather than a subway in New York.

  • Short audio lessons for learning on the bus, in the car or at home.

  • Prices in Guyana dollars, with payment by card, MMG or bank transfer.

Independent

StudyBuddy isn't affiliated with the Ministry of Education or CXC. Our practice papers are original papers written to match the real exams' format, not official past papers.
