<p><strong>Last updated: October 2026</strong></p> <p>Welcome to StudyBuddy.gy, operated by Xcess Interactive. These terms explain how StudyBuddy works and what we and you agree to. By creating an account or using StudyBuddy, you accept these terms and our Privacy Policy.</p>

<h2>1. About StudyBuddy</h2> <p>StudyBuddy.gy helps students in Guyana prepare for the National Grade Six Assessment (NGSA) and the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC). It provides:</p> <ul> <li><p>NGSA-style and CSEC-style practice papers, timed like the real exams</p></li> <li><p>Topic lessons, quizzes and flashcards</p></li> <li><p>BuddyCasts (short audio lessons) and learning games</p></li> <li><p>Ask Buddy, our study helper</p></li> <li><p>Progress tracking for students and their parents or guardians</p></li> </ul> <p>StudyBuddy.gy is not affiliated with the Ministry of Education, Guyana, or the Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC).</p>

<h2>2. Our practice papers</h2> <p>Every practice paper on StudyBuddy is original StudyBuddy content. We do not use any NGSA or CXC past papers. Our NGSA-style and CSEC-style papers are written to match the format, timing and topics of the real exams, so students can practise under exam conditions.</p>

<h2>3. Accounts</h2> <ul> <li><p><strong>Parents and guardians</strong> can create an account and add profiles for their children. You are responsible for activity on your account and your children's profiles.</p></li> <li><p><strong>Children under 13</strong> may create their own account only with a parent or guardian's permission, which they confirm when signing up. A parent or guardian can also create a profile for them, or add their account to the family.</p></li> <li><p><strong>Students aged 13 and over</strong> may create their own account.</p></li> </ul> <p>By creating a child profile, you confirm that you are that child's parent or legal guardian and agree to these terms on their behalf.</p>

<h2>4. StudyBuddy+</h2> <p>Core learning on StudyBuddy is free. StudyBuddy+ unlocks more features; current prices and features are shown on the upgrade page.</p> <ul> <li><p>StudyBuddy+ is a one-year plan, paid once in advance by card, MMG or bank transfer. It does not renew automatically.</p></li> <li><p>We may change prices for future purchases. A change never affects a year you have already paid for.</p></li> <li><p><strong>Refunds:</strong> see "Refunds" below.</p></li> <li><p>Gift codes can be redeemed once, for the period stated on the code.</p></li> </ul>

<h3 id="refunds">Refunds</h3> <ul> <li><p><strong>14-day money-back:</strong> if you are not happy, ask within 14 days of your first StudyBuddy+ payment for a full refund. No reason is needed.</p></li> <li><p><strong>After 14 days:</strong> no refunds, except when you were charged twice, charged the wrong amount, or a fault on our side stopped you using StudyBuddy+.</p></li> <li><p>The 14-day money-back applies to your first StudyBuddy+ purchase only.</p></li> <li><p><strong>Gift codes:</strong> refundable within 14 days of purchase if the code has not been redeemed.</p></li> <li><p><strong>How to ask:</strong> email <a href="mailto:hello@studybuddy.gy">hello@studybuddy.gy</a> with your account email and payment reference. We reply within 2 working days.</p></li> <li><p><strong>How you are paid back:</strong> card refunds go back to the card used (5 to 10 days, depending on your bank). MMG and bank payments are returned the same way within 7 working days.</p></li> <li><p>StudyBuddy+ ends when the refund is made.</p></li> </ul>

<h2>5. Using StudyBuddy fairly</h2> <p>Please use StudyBuddy for learning. You must not:</p> <ul> <li><p>Share your sign-in details or let others use your account.</p></li> <li><p>Post or send anything harmful, offensive or illegal.</p></li> <li><p>Copy, scrape or republish our questions, papers, lessons or audio.</p></li> <li><p>Try to break, overload or get around the limits of the service.</p></li> <li><p>Pretend to be someone else, or to be a child's parent or guardian when you are not.</p></li> </ul> <p>We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.</p>

<h2>6. Our content</h2> <p>StudyBuddy's design, practice papers, questions, lessons, flashcards, BuddyCasts and other materials belong to Xcess Interactive. You may use them for your own study. You may not copy, sell or republish them without our written permission.</p>

<h2>7. Closing your account</h2> <p>You can ask us to delete your account at any time by emailing <a href="mailto:hello@studybuddy.gy">hello@studybuddy.gy</a> from the account's email address. Parents can remove a child's profile in the app. Deletion is permanent and handled as described in our Privacy Policy.</p>

<h2>8. No guarantees</h2> <p>StudyBuddy is provided "as is". We aim to keep it accurate, available and in line with the current NGSA and CSEC formats and syllabuses, but we cannot guarantee that it is always available or that using it will lead to a particular exam result.</p>

<h2>9. Limit of our liability</h2> <p>As far as the law allows, Xcess Interactive and its owners and staff are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from using StudyBuddy. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have that cannot be limited by law.</p>

<h2>10. Governing law</h2> <p>These terms are governed by the laws of the Co-operative Republic of Guyana, and the courts of Guyana have jurisdiction over any dispute.</p>

<h2>11. Changes to these terms</h2> <p>If we make important changes, we will tell you by email or in the app. Continuing to use StudyBuddy after that means you accept the updated terms.</p>
